Inter-Korean Family Reunions to Begin Saturday

The two Koreas will hold reunions for separated families at the Mount Geumgang resort in North Korea for six days starting Saturday.

South Korea’s 100 designated participants and 20 companions attended a prereunion orientation hosted by the Unification Ministry in Sokcho, Gangwong Province on Friday afternoon.

They will travel via an overland route to the North Korean resort on Saturday morning for reunions with their North Korean relatives for the first time in nearly 60 years.

A series of individual and outdoor reunion sessions will be held on Sunday. Participants will head back to the South after a final reunion session on Monday morning.

Afterwards, 100 North Koreans will meet with their South Korean relatives in Geumgang for three days starting next Tuesday.
