The 14th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) will open in the nation's southern port city of Busan on Friday evening.

The opening ceremony, to be held at Suyeong Bay Yacht Marina, will draw about 150 directors, actors and actresses from home and abroad.

During the event’s nine-day run, 355 films from 70 countries will premiere at six major movie theaters in Haeundae and Nampo-dong in Busan.

The film festival will also feature various programs to support movie producers and to foster future talents in the industry.
