A KBS radio program has won the 21st International Radio Grand Prix from the International Radio and Television University (URTI).

KBS reported that the documentary “The Bicycle-Protecting the Earth, 2 Wheels at a Time” had won the grand prize.

The award ceremony will take place in Paris, France on October 21st.
The grand prize comes with a 1,520 euro purse.

Marking the International Year of Planet Earth, the program raises public awareness of the need to protect the environment and of the usefulness of bicycles.

The show was broadcast live, with the host riding a bicycle throughout the program. It experimented with production techniques converging broadcasting and communication based on information technology.

The program won the Turkey International Radio Award’s special prize last year and was among the ten finalists at the International Radio Festival in May.
