U.S. JCS Chairman to visit Korea next month

The Defense Department said Tuesday U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Richard Myers will visit Korea next month as part of his three-nation Asian tour. Gen. Myers will visit Korea, Japan and the Philippines from April 25th through May 3rd,. It did not disclose further details about the visit, only saying that the Philippines will be the first and Korea the last leg of the nine-day tour. Therefore, the U.S. general is expected to begin his Korean visit May 1st. It will be Myers' first visit to South Korea since he took his current post in October last year. Military sources said during the Korea visit Myers will express gratitude for Seoul's support of the U.S.-led military campaign in Afghanistan,
