A song praising North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s third son, Jong-un, was played during a performance attended by the reclusive leader earlier in the month.

North Korea’s Korean Central Television on Monday aired footage of Kim watching a performance by the North Hwanghae Province Art Troupe on October ninth of this month. The broadcaster also disclosed photographs of the performance and posted a caption on the upper end of the screen that read “Steps,” which is the title of the performed song that exalts Kim Jong-un.

Observers say the footage suggests that the North’s succession plan is close to being finalized.

The report added that Kim was accompanied by his sister, Kyung-hee, brother-in-law, Jang Song-taek and Kim Ki-nam, a secretary of the North's Workers' Party, during the troupe’s performance.
