The Seoul Design Olympiad 2009 will close Thursday after a 21-day run.

Under the theme of "We are all designers," the olympiad featured various exhibits, forums and public contests.

Almost two-point-eight million people visited the event as of Tuesday, and Seoul city officials expect the number to top two-point-nine million by Thursday's close.

One program during the olympiad, the 2009 World Design Market, was of particular interest to attendees, recording sales of over 150 million won, or 125-thousand U.S. dollars.

The market ran under slogan of “Design solutions to overcome the economic downturn.”
