North Korea’s Foreign Ministry has denounced the recent passage of a U.N. resolution that criticizes Pyongyang’s human rights conditions.
A ministry spokesman said in a statement carried by the Korean Central News Agency on Friday that Pyongyang fully rejects the recent U.N. resolution, claiming that it is a product of an anti-North Korea political plot that has been carried out by enemy forces on a yearly basis.
The spokesman also said that it should not be overlooked that the U.S. incites Europe and Japan to fabricate documents insulting to the North’s system that infringe upon its sovereignty.
However, the spokesman did not make any comments on South Korea’s cosponsoring of the resolution.
Earlier on Thursday, the U.N.’s Third Committee, which deals with issues related to human rights, approved a resolution on human rights violations in the reclusive state by a vote of 96-19, with 65 abstentions.
