Kim YN, Blatter meet to talk about Korea-Japan World Cup finals

North Korean broadcasts monitored here reported Tuesday North Korea's No. 2 man Kim Yong-nam met with visiting FIFA President Sepp Blatter at Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang Monday. The Korean Central Broadcasting Station said that Kim, president of the Supreme People's Assembly's Presidium, met with a FIFA delegation led by Blatter. The meeting went amicably. The broadcaster said other North Korean officials on hand included Trade Minister Ri Kwang-geun and IOC member Jang Ung. The broadcaster did not give any details on what was discussed. The FIFA mission arrived in Pyongyang Monday for a two-day stay reportedly aimed at discussing the North's participation in the opening ceremony of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup finals and other issues involving the international soccer event.
