The two Koreas will form a joint team to inspect overseas industrial complexes.
A senior government official said that an inter-Korean on-site inspection team will visit industrial complexes in either China or Vietnam in mid-December.
A final decision on which nation will be visited is expected to come soon.
The team will consist of 20 officials --- ten from each side --- with an aim to better its understanding of operations at overseas industrial parks, including matters ranging from wage levels to management systems.
The government official said the two Koreas will further discuss matters related to the operation of the joint venture Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea based on the results of the inspection.
South and North Korea have been negotiating on issues regarding passage, communication and customs at the complex and the construction of dorms and roads for use by North Korean workers.
The South proposed the dispatch of the joint industrial inspection team during the second working-level meeting on the Gaeseong Industrial Park in June.
