Hyundai Allowed to Add Rooms and Bungee Jumping to N.K. Resort

The South Korean government on Tuesday approved a plan by Hyundai Asan Co., the main operator of the Mount Geumgang tour program, to invest a further $1.162 million dollars to renovate accommodation facilities and build a bungee jumping platform at the North Korean resort. Cho Myong-kyoon, director-general of the Unification Ministry's inter-Korean exchange and cooperation bureau, said Wednesday nearly 57 percent, $657,000, of the investment will be used to renovate and expand accommodations, with the remainder going to build the bungee jumping facilities.
