'Mother' Wins Best Film at Blue Dragon Awards

Director Bong Joon-ho’s “Mother” has garnered three awards, including best film, at the 30th Blue Dragon Film Awards held at KBS in Seoul on Wednesday.

“Mother” ended up taking home the awards for best film, best actor and best lighting.

Kim Young-min and Ha Ji-won won the best actor and actress awards for their performances in the film “Closer to Heaven.”

Director Kim Yong-hwa won the best director award for his film “Take Off,” after winning the same award at another major film festival, the Daejong Film Awards.

Jin Ku of “Mother” won the best supporting actor award and Kim Hae-sook of “Thirst” won the award for best supporting actress.

The best new actor award went to Yang Ik-jun of "Breathless" and the best new actress award went to Park Bo-yeong of "Scandal Makers."
