Pro-NK Paper Calls for Peace Treaty

A pro-North Korean newspaper published in Japan says U.S.-North Korea relations must shift from hostile to peaceful through the bilateral talks currently under way in Pyongyang.

The Choson Sinbo said the trip to the North by U.S. special representative for North Korea policy Stephen Bosworth will provide the opportunity to determine how the state of affairs between the two nations will develop in the future.

The daily also mentioned the issue of establishing a peace treaty between the U.S. and the North, saying the matter could be brought up by North Korean officials during talks with Bosworth.

Meanwhile, the report said a bureau chief of the North Korean Foreign Ministry, Chong Tae-yang, greeted Bosworth when he arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday.
