Koreas to Send Joint Industrial Inspection Team

South and North Korea will send a joint inspection team to industrial complexes in China and Vietnam from December 12th through the 22nd.

Unification Ministry spokeswoman Lee Jong-joo told reporters on Thursday that delegates from the two Koreas will meet in Beijing Saturday and visit industrial parks in Qingdao for the next two days.

The joint delegation will tour industrial complexes in Suzhou and Shenzhen in China from December 15th to 18th and then visit an industrial park in Vietnam from the 19th to the 22nd.

The joint delegation will be comprised of ten members from each side, led by the head of the Unification Ministry’s inter-Korean dialogue bureau, Kim Young-tak, from the South and vice chief of the Central Guidance Bureau for Special Zone Development, Pak Chul-su, from the North.

The ministry said the planned joint inspection will help the two Koreas build a mutual understanding on ways to develop the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
