Historical remains from the early Neolithic age have been unearthed in North Gyeongsang Province.

According to a research institute in North Gyeongsang Province Tuesday, three occupation layers from the Neolithic Age and some 100 remains from that era were found during a two-month excavation project in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province.

Similar relics were previously found in Yangyang, Gangwon Province, as well as in Goseong, Ulsan and Busan in South Gyeongsang Province.

The research institute said the recently discovered remains have the cultural characteristics of both the northeastern and southeastern regions from the early Neolithic Age.
