Winter Lights Festival to Begin on December 19

The “2009 Seoul Winter Lights Festival” will be held at Gwanghwamun Square starting December 19.

This festival, which will continue until January 24, will project real-time images of people at the square onto a large building.

Four lights will serve as themes, using history, culture, and communication as some of its motifs.

The Seoul Square will set up a replica of the King Sejong Base, Korea’s research base in Antarctica. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be a member at the base.

In addition, to the festival, to celebrate Seoul being named the World Design Capital for 2010, people can get a chance to enrich their perspectives with a variety of designs that will be on display at Seoul Square.
