Seoul will open World Cup Information Centers

Seoul Metropolitan Administration said Monday....World Cup information centers will open at 72 locations in Seoul for foreign tourists from Wednesday, 15 days ahead of the opening of the World Cup finals. From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, all 2,790 staff, including 670 English, 950 Chinese, 470 Japanese and 440 French speaking guides, will provide information about soccer matches, cultural events and sightseeing. The eight major tourist information centers at City Hall, Dongdaemun, Itaewon, Gimpo Airport, Namdaemun market, Peace Park in World Cup Park, Sinchon and Jamsil will be open daily until 10 p.m. Special information centers will open at 34 sites, including six in downtown hotels and World Inns, seven around the World Cup stadium and nine tourist attractions, including the Yongsan electronics market. In addition, the city administration said it began a web service Monday called "Seoul One-Stop Guide." Foreign visitors can get a variety of information on anything including flights, accommodations, match schedules and tours by visiting the English site at http://welcome.seoul.go.kr.
