Modernized S-N Comm. Line Goes Into Action

An inter-Korean military communication line, recently upgraded with optical fiber cables, officially opened on Wednesday.

South Korea's Unification Ministry says the communication line went into service following three days of test trials that were held last week.

The two Koreas use the line to approve border crossings.

The South provided the materials to replace the outdated copper cable line, which had been hindering border operations.
