South Koreans and Japanese are now able to visit each other's country without visas as a temporary visa-waiver program went into effect Thursday. The program allows citizens of the two countries to stay in the other country up to one month without visas until June 30th when the World Cup ends. The Foreign Ministry in Seoul said the measure is aimed at facilitating personnel exchange during the international soccer tournament. It's the first time Japan has waived visa requirements for South Korean travelers since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 19-65.
