The National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts, along with the Korea Foundation, will hold a two-day concert of Korean and Japanese court music from May 27 in Busan. The concert is aimed at promoting the 2002 year of exchange between South Korea and Japan and the co-hostinosting of the 2002 World Cup finals from May 31 to June 30. A combined orchestra of 61 Korean and 25 Japanese court musicians will give the audience at the Busan Cultural Center a chance to listen to representative court music of the two nations. The Korean side will perform 11 pieces of court music, including the ritual music for Confucian shrine, while the Japanese side will present nine pieces, including "Nasori," which is believed to have found its way to Japan during the ancient Three Kingdoms Period.
