A South Korean man has reportedly crossed the frozen Tumen River into North Korea.

Sources in China familiar with North Korean affairs said Saturday that a South Korean man got in a cab at Yanji Airport in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province and got out at a location some two kilometers from the Tumen River before crossing the river into the North.

The man, between the ages of 30 and 40, reportedly ignored the cab driver’s warning that he could be shot while crossing the border. Sources said the man was met by a dozen North Korean guards.
