The international relief agency “World Vision” says it is preparing to send 500 tons of flour worth 180 million won, or 160-thousand dollars, to North Korea.

World Vision will send the first 100-ton batch from Incheon on Wednesday to the North's Nampo Port. One-hundred tons will be sent weekly in the same manner over the following four weeks.

The group, which sent 300 tons of flour to North Korea last year, is asking that the flour be given first to families with children in Daeheungdan County in Ryanggang Province near Baekdu Mountain. It is also asking that the North provide a post-provision distribution report.

The North's National Economic Cooperation Foundation requested the flour aid.
