Koreas Continue Assessing Joint Inspection of Complexes

South and North Korea will meet for a second day Wednesday to evaluate their joint offshore inspection of industrial parks last month.

The two sides will continue discussions at the North’s border city of Gaeseong on the results of their visit to Chinese and Vietnamese industrial parks and coordinate views on the development of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

During the first day of the meeting on Tuesday, the South stressed the need to establish a simplified system for passage and customs clearance in and out of Gaeseong. The North, on its part, said the joint offshore inspection served as a vital opportunity for the two Koreas to acquire information on further promoting the industrial park.

Unification Minister Chun Hae-sung said the two sides did not discuss issues other than those related to the industrial complex, adding that discussions were held amid a working-level atmosphere.
