KCNA: Italian Lawmakers Visiting N.Korea

North Korea’s state-run news agency says a group of Italian legislators arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday.

The Korean Central News Agency said the group is led by the People of Freedom Party lawmaker Osvaldo Napoli, who is also the chairman of a parliamentary committee on promoting ties and cooperation with North Korea.

The report, however, stopped short of mentioning the purpose of the Italian legislators’ trip or how long they will be staying in the North.

Italy established diplomatic ties with North Korea in January 2000, becoming the first G7 nation to do so.
