Five New H1N1 Cases Reported in NK

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reportedly confirmed that three people were recently infected with H1N1 influenza in the North Korean city of Gaeseong, which borders South Korea.

According to the U.S.-funded broadcaster Radio Free Asia, North Korea told the WHO that five people were newly confirmed to have contracted the virus in its cities of Sinuiju and Gaeseong.

The broadcaster said that the North is properly equipped to tackle the spread of the new flu and that four of the five patients have recovered from the disease.

In total, the North has reported 19 cases of the new flu and none of the patients have died.
