South Korean artists are pushing for a large performance in Pyeongyang.

This would be the first such event since the Lee Myung-bak administration was inaugurated in February 2008.

A South Korean artists association said it is planning an arts festival that will bring together some 500 artists from the two Koreas in April at the Chung Ju-yung Gymnasium in the North's capital.

The association said it wants artists to be at the forefront in strengthening reconciliation and cooperation between the two nations.
