Cheong Wa Dae : Summit Should Discuss NK Nuke

Presidential spokesman Park Sun-kyu says North Korea's nuclear issue should be discussed during inter-Korean summit talks, should they be held.

Park said that President Lee Myung-bak's recent remarks that there should be no conditions for holding an inter-Korean summit, did not imply that the nuclear issue be left out of potential summit talks between the two sides.

The spokesman also denied South Korean media reports which said that Seoul is awaiting a reply from the North on a proposal for a summit sometime in the first half of the year.

Park and top aid for public affairs Lee Dong-kwan reaffirmed that no specific preparations are under way in regards to a potential summit between the two Koreas.
