South Korean government sources said Saturday North Korea would grant overseas South Koreans visas for entry to Pyongyang so they can watch the ongoing mass gymnastics event "Arirang Festival" in June. A source said from early next month, the North will issue an `Arirang tourism visa' not only for South Koreans living abroad but also for U.S. citizens working at international agencies. The source, however, added that domestic South Koreans would not be granted the visas. Sources said that the North will likely take steps to reduce the necessary period for visa issuance to attract more tourists for the festival. It is still not known whether the North would permit domestic South Koreans to travel to Pyongyang for the Arirang tour.
