North Korea declared on Monday no-sail zones for four areas in the Yellow Sea and one in the East Sea will be in effect until Tuesday 8 p.m.

An official from the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul says the North has, in the past, fired ship-to-ship short-range missiles in the declared areas.

The South Korean military remains on alert for possible tests of North Korean short-range missiles in the locations.
