North Korea has accepted South Korea's proposal to hold working-level talks on resuming South Koreans' tours to the Mount Geumgang resort in the North on Monday.
Unification Ministry spokesman Chun Hae-sung says the North's Asia-Pacific Peace Committee sent a message to the South Tuesday, saying that it will send a three-member delegation headed by a member of the committee to the working-level talks.
Chun said the ministry sent a telephone message to the United Front Department of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party demanding the participation of an official who has the authority to guarantee the safety of tourists. South Korea also requested the North send the South a list of the North Korean delegates to the talks.
The spokesman said the South Korean delegation will be composed of officials from the tourism, justice and unification ministries.
Tours to the Mount Geumgang resort were halted after a South Korean tourist was shot dead by a North Korean security guard in July 2008.
