'Kim's China Trip Possible With Understanding on Nuke Talks'

The nation’s ambassador to China says a visit to China by North Korean leader Kim Jong-il could become possible once an atmosphere conducive to the resumption of the six-way nuclear talks is created.

Ambassador Yu Woo-ik made the statement when he appeared on a KBS TV program late Tuesday. He said there is a chance Kim could visit China, following an invite put forth earlier this week by Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.

Yu added that a positive atmosphere toward resuming the nuclear talks is in the process of being created.

Yu also said he believes an inter-Korean summit could be possible if North Korea agrees to discuss its denuclearization during the summit.
