Korea’s ambassador to China says it is premature to believe the resumption of the six-party talks is imminent.

Ambassador Ryu Woo-ik said in a news conference in Seoul on Wednesday that although the meetings between top Chinese and North Korean officials was a positive sign, assuming that the six-party talks will resume soon is jumping to conclusions.

On his role on inter-Korean relations, Ryu denied any role in arranging an inter-Korean summit in Beijing, saying that he was not acting outside his capacity as an ambassador.
