The South Korean government plans to send hand sanitizer aid worth one-billion won to North Korea to help prevent the spread of the H1N1 flu in the North.

A Unification Ministry official said there are plans to deliver the hand sanitizers via a land route to North Korea by February 20.

Seoul has sent Tamiflu and other medicine for some half-million people on December 18 upon news of an H1N1 flu outbreak in North Korea.

In addition, South Korea’s Red Cross plans to send medical supplies, including antibiotics and powdered milk for children, to North Korea by late February.
