Sepp Blatter was reelected to another four-year term as FIFA president at the 53rd FIFA Ordinary Congress in Seoul Wednesday. The 66-year-old Swiss, who has served FIFA as general secretary since 1981 and as president from 1998, defeated rival Issa Hayatou, the president of the African Football Confederation (CAF), by taking 139 of the 195 votes cast in the highly-charged elections in Seoul. Blatter promised to restore harmony and unity in the organization that has suffered considerable damage to its reputation over allegations of gross financial mismanagement. Blatter's rival Hayatou received 56 votes.
