Tuesday marks the first anniversary of the death of Stephen Cardinal Kim Sou-hwan.

A cemetery for Roman Catholic priests in Yongin where the cardinal is buried drew many visitors from early morning.

Cardinal Nicholas Cheong Jin-suk presided over a memorial mass at Myeongdong Cathedral on Tuesday evening. Some 120 photos of Kim’s childhood, his ordination ceremony and social activities will be on display at the cathedral.

The Jeoldusan Martyrs’ Museum will also hold an exhibition of some 140 articles left by Kim, including his journal.

In addition, a memorial concert will be held at the Seoul Arts Center on Thursday.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul will launch a charity foundation in memory of the late cardinal.
