FM: Six-Party Talks to Resume Soon

Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan says that the six-party denuclearization talks will resume soon, although the exact dates have yet to be set.

Yu told a parliamentary foreign affairs panel Wednesday that the exchange of visits by Chinese and North Korean officials indicates that negotiations are under way to resume the stalled multilateral talks aimed at dismantling North Korea's nuclear weapons programs.

Yu said he was confident about the talks' resumption because they are in the interest of North Korea.

North Korea's chief delegate to the six-party nuclear talks Kim Kye-kwan visited Beijing last week after the head of the international department of China's Communist Party Wang Jiarui visited Pyongyang.
