NK Proposes Inter-Korean Military Talks for Mar. 2

North Korea has proposed that the two Koreas hold working-level military talks on March second.

Defense Ministry spokesman Won Tae-jae said the North sent a message to the South at around 9:25 a.m. Monday, proposing that the two sides hold working-level military talks in the North Korean city of Gaeseong at 10 a.m. on March second.

The message was sent in the name of North Korea's chief delegate to inter-Korean military talks.

Won said that Seoul is mulling whether to accept Pyongyang’s proposal.

Previously, the North had proposed that the two Koreas hold the military talks on January 26th to discuss cross-border passage, communications, and customs clearances for the inter-Korean Gaeseong business park in the North.

In response, the South proposed on February 12th that the inter-Korean military talks be held on February 23rd.

The two sides have not held such talks since October of 2008.
