Hand Sanitizers Delivered to North Korea

The South Korean government delivered hand sanitizers to the North Tuesday to help prevent the spread of the H1N1 flu in North Korea.

A five-member team delivered 200-thousand liters of hand sanitizers by 25 trucks via the inter-Korean Gyeongui Highway.

The chief of the transport team said that the hand sanitizers were provided as part of humanitarian assistance.

The South Korean government spent some 18 billion won from the Inter-Korean Cooperation Fund for the sanitizer aid for the North.

South Korea delivered 500-thousand doses of Tamiflu and Relenza to North Korea in December 2009.
