The World Design Cities Summit has closed in Seoul with an agreement to hold the event every two years.

The mayors of cities and representatives from around the world ended the two-day event with the Seoul Design City Declaration. In the statement, delegates also agreed to share their experience of urban development through design in order to make cities more attractive and enjoyable.

To support the biennial design summits, the Seoul city government decided to establish a secretariat, a research center for design.
