The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry said Monday.Another pig tested positive at a farm in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, for foot-and-mouth disease. The National Veterinary Research and Quarantine Service conducted the test and notified the ministry of the positive reading on Sunday. The ministry will step up preventive measures against the easily-spread disease which is fatal for cloven-hoofed animals as it thinks people or vehicles have spread the virus beyond the farms were it was first detected. It will analyze the most-recent test results and map out countermeasures Monday afternoon.
