NK Forms New IRBM Division

North Korea is confirmed to have formed a separate military division for intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM) after having deployed its latest model of IRBMs.

A South Korean government source says the division is charged with allocating and overseeing IRBM operations.

The source says the creation of the division suggests that North Korea intends to continuously produce IRBMs for use in combat.

The North has already developed intermediate-range missiles with ranges that exceed three-thousand kilometers. The missiles are seen as a threat to South Korea and U.S. forces in the Pacific region.
