The nation's two leading art auction companies have seen a 70 percent success rate at their first auction of the year.

Seoul Auction said Friday that in its first auction of this year on Thursday, 174 out of 237 art pieces were auctioned off, resulting in five-point-six billion won in sales.

At another auction by K-Auction on Wednesday, 160 out of 219 articles were auctioned off, recording four-point-eight billion won in sales.
