NK Sending Workers Abroad

An unidentified South Korean government official says North Korea is sending workers abroad in an apparent move to increase the impoverished nation’s reserves of foreign currencies.

A source familiar with North Korean affairs said Monday that the North has sent workers to South Africa to help build and repair soccer stadiums in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup that opens in June.

North Korean workers have also been seen at tree logging sites in Mongolia.
