NK Official Executed for Failed Currency Reform

North Korea has reportedly executed a former top financial official for the failed currency reform recently conducted by the North.

Multiple sources on North Korea told Yonhap News Thursday that the former Financial Planning Director of the Worker’s Party, Pak Nam-gi, was executed at a shooting range in Pyongyang last week.

The sources said Park was the scapegoat for the deterioration in public sentiment caused by the failed currency reform that has resulted in an inflation explosion.
