NK Diplomat: Currency Reform Confusion Settled

North Korea’s ambassador to Britain is claiming that the confusion in his country caused by a failed currency reform has settled.

Ambassador Ja Song-nam made the remark on Thursday while in Brussels, saying that although there was some confusion during the initial stages of the currency reform, the situation has been rectified.

Ja said the currency reform was carried out to improve the lives of the North Korean people.

On reclusive North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, Ja said Kim is in good health and is conducting state affairs normally, adding that the issue of Kim’s heir was not being discussed.

Ja added that he has no information on reports that Kim might visit China.
