The South Korean operator of tours to North Korea will visit the communist state this week.
Hyundai Asan, which is the main operator of tour programs to the North’s Mount Geumgang resort, submitted on Tuesday a request to the make the visit to the communist state.
The move comes after Pyongyang notified Seoul last week that it would launch an investigation into real estate held by South Korean firms operating at the mountain resort.
A group, comprised of some 40 officials from Hyundai Asan and 32 of its partner firms, is scheduled to leave for Mount Geumgang at 9:40 a.m. on Thursday.
A group of four officials from the Korean Tourism Organization, meanwhile, will depart for the mountain resort on Wednesday.
Last Thursday, the North summoned all South Korean owners of Geumgang property to the mountain resort, threatening that if the owners fail to gather at the resort by 11 a.m. on Thursday, the North would confiscate South Korean properties.
