A forum to provide advice on policies regarding the demilitarized zone (DMZ) that separates North and South Korea will be launched on Thursday.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security will launch the forum to discuss implementing the ministry’s basic plan for inter-Korean exchanges and the development of the border area.

The forum will also conduct academic research to preserve the environment of the DMZ.

The forum will be held at least once each quarter until 2012.
