Broadcasters have launched a joint poll prediction committee for the June local elections.

Chiefs of news reporting teams at the nation's three terrestrial broadcasters and Secretary General Lee Jung-ok of the Korean Broadcasters Association on Thursday signed an agreement pledging to conduct joint polls faithfully.

Under the agreement, the committee will jointly conduct surveys related to the local elections, including exit polls.

The broadcasters association last week decided to conduct joint polls to improve public credibility of the election reports and to save costs.
