KCC Gives Grand Prize in Broadcasting to KBS Documentary

A Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) documentary has won the grand prize in broadcasting from the Korea Communications Commission (KCC).

The seven-part documentary, “Insight Asia-Noodle Road,” was lauded for having globalized Korean broadcasting culture and image through its creative and stylish presentation of the history of East-West exchanges.

In addition, 12 other documentaries picked up awards, including a two-part documentary by KBS Changwon on habits and an Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) documentary on child crime.

Song Hae, the host of a nationwide singing competition program, captured a special prize for having facilitated the inclusion of provincial regions into mainstream broadcasting typically limited to the capital region. Song’s show, currently in its 26th year, is the longest running program in Korean broadcasting history.
