North Korea says it fully rejects a U.N. Human Rights Council resolution that denounces the North for its human rights abuses.

North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency quoted a spokesman from its foreign ministry as claiming Monday that the U.N. resolution is full of distortions and fabrications and is a political scheme devised by the United States and Japan.

The spokesman added that the North will destroy hostile forces’ anticommunist schemes regarding human rights and will further strengthen its socialist system.

Earlier on February 25th, the U.N. Human Rights Council adopted a resolution which denounces the North for its "grave, widespread and systematic human rights abuses.”
