More than 1,000 foreign campers use Nanji campsite

City Administration said Wednesday more than 1,000 foreign campers used Nanji campsite near Sangam World Cup Stadium in western Seoul. A city official said, as of Monday, 1,388 foreign backpackers from 20 countries, including 150 Japanese, 150 French and 48 Poles, stayed at the campsite that can accommodate 547 campers. Facilities such as washstands, cooking facilities and bathrooms are available at the campsite in the Han Riverside Park, which used to be a landfill. Campers have access to other facilities including convenience stores, lockers, a medical center and bicycle rentals. City administration is considering opening the campsite to the public from July after the end of the World Cup as a site for school field trips and company workshops.
